4G LTE Issue

For the past week or two I have not picked up a 4G connection. The only thing I can think of is when I traveled outside of the coverage area last week, I was using an edge connection. Are there any apps I can run to see if I am even getting 4G? According to the US Cellular coverage map, I live right near a tower and am in a "Best Coverage" area.

Do you have a way to enable/disable mobile networks? Mine does (but some carriers disable this) and once I accidentally toggled 4G off. Maybe that's your issue.

Yeah I tried toggling it on and off again. 3G works fine. Restarted phone. Removed battery, removed sim card, restarted. Nothing seemed to help.

OK, try this:

1) Make sure your 4G toggle and Mobile Network mode is active (4G toggle can be ON, but if Mobile Network mode is set to 3G it won't do squat).
2) Have a friend on the same network as you and with a 4G phone stand next to you. Does their phone get 4G and you don't? If you both don't, then you know it's a carrier issue. If the other phone does but you don't, then it's either a hardware problem or a SIM problem. Sometimes carriers screw things up and deactivate 4G for your account and/or SIM 'by accident' or your SIM just went nuts; they'll be able to confirm that over the phone.

BTW, if your friend's phone gets 4G and yours doesn't, swap SIM cards. If your phone has 4G with your friend's SIM, then your SIM would cause the other phone to have 3G only and you would know it's a SIM issue. If your friend's SIM also gets 3G only, then it's a hardware problem.

I think I found the issue. RC5 of Cyanogen Mod 10.1 was reported to be causing a problem. I am flashing back to an earlier release candidate version to see if that fixes it. Trying RC2 for now. If not I am going to go back to stock and start over or try a CM nightly. Ugh.

Edit: I restored to my original backup, then did a factory reset. Back on 4g now.

OMG, I think I'm suffering your same issue. I've tried going back to stock, and still no good. 3G is all I get in all known 4G areas. The last I remember I was on CM 10.0.0 Stable when all was working, and updating, and updating, eventually 4G went away. I'm going back to CM 10.0.0, and update to stables from there.

Thanks for your input!
