4g upgrade and memory card

I got my box coming to me and I was reading the fine print. It says if you have a memory card you need to remove it and insert the plastic filler card that came with the xoom. Anyone send it in with an empty slot? What issue could it cause. I don't know about you but I never thought I'd need that filler card again.

Upon re-reading I think they are referring to the slide tray that seconds as the top cover.
