Couldn't find a thread discussing this. I have a Mac and use Android File Transfer and wanted to transfer a 720p movie to the phone to really push the HD screen... I read somewhere it has to do with fat32 or something like that.? Anyone else run into this problem? Is there a way around this?

FAT32 has a maximum file size of 4GB, yes. As for ways around that, I'm not entirely sure. With MicroSD cards I believe you can format it to another file system, but not so sure how that would play out on a phone that only has internal storage.

The base OS is linux, right? I would assume that the file system would be at least EXT3... so no 4GB file limit.

Kind of strange to have an HD phone without the ability to transfer HD movies to. I haven't run into a blue ray rip under 4 gig lol. Oh well, will have to settle with DVD rip for my trip this weekend...

Yeah I tried to transfer an 8.5GB movie to my Nexus and had to convert it to just under 4GB to get it to play. The quality isn't nearly as nice. :(

According to xda, the file system is EXT4 - which should allow files >4GB via MTP. I haven't tested this though...

Wow, that's not cool.

The 720 video that I imported was under 4 so I didn't see it.

What did you use to make the video?
