Stock plain unmodified N9. Tried to OTA from 5.0.2 to 5.1.1. Got an error midway through, then booted to the Google screen. I can boot into recovery and tried cache wipes and factory reset and I get to the Google screen and no further. Any advice other than send it to HTC?

If you never unlocked the boot loader, or didn't enable OEM unlock before updating, HTC is the only one who can fix it at this point.

If you use the Android SDK tools, you can unlock the bootloader (this will wipe all your data) and then flash the 5.1.1 factory image found in Google Developers page.
Then, after flash is complete, lock the bootloader.
This will perform a clean install and revert to factory settings.
Unless there is something else going on with your tablet, you should be able to flash the factory image.
Hope this helps.

This is true, manually flashing could possibly get you back up & running Without sending off your N9 & waiting a couple weeks :)
Good luck ;)

Well here's an update for anyone who cares. Sent in the tablet for repair. Got a "quote" a few days later saying $240 to replace motherboard. Phone call. Tell me the screen is cracked. Long conversation later, I figure I'll need a UPS insurance claim. Get tablet back with NO CRACKS. Phone call. No explanation, but a prepaid label and its now on its way back to me, repaired supposedly. I will update tomorrow with results.
