I woke up early this morning like everyone else to order the S3. Later on I was on the Verizon site again and noticed that there was a $50 discount on both colors and memory options of the S3. I called customer service at 1-800-922-0204 extension 4 and they credited my account $50. I would advise everyone who ordered early this morning with no discount to do the same. Cheers.

So what did you get and what did you pay? I was under the impression that pricing was always to be $199 for 16gb and $249 for 32gb. What I was most surprised to see was a lack of New Every Two discount on an upgrade that I had been saving since 2010...

Was it the primary line? You also only have 6 months to use it after it becomes available iirc.

After the $50 credit, I ended up paying $199 for a Blue 32GB S3 plus activation and taxes. They couldn't change the transaction, but they did credit my account $50 for the next billing cycle

I actually transferred the upgrade from a secondary line. I believe I had used the last NET on my primary line to get my original Omnia way back when, but I can't recall. Oh well, this beats having to wait until November, having to chance loss of my unlimited data!

I'm still not seeing the $50 discount that sailorman2439 is mentioning (both logged in and logged out of my VZW account) :(

I can't see it anymore. I guess the discount may have been mistakenly applied to the S3 in addition to the other phones they are discounting by $50. Bummer they noticed.

I ordered over the phone and got this discount, but its as a rebate. So it will be deducted from my next bill.

I also got $50 discount on my primary line. This discount is not specific to S3, I could upgrade to any other phones and still get this extra $50 off.

I'm upgrading 2 phones to S3, my secondary line don't get the extra $50 off.

Anyone called right now after pre-ordering in the morning and gotten the $50 credit? What was the reason for the rebate?

I asked this morning about any discounts or a NE2, during my pre-order, and they said since I had used my NE2 in 2010, they don't offer it anymore.
I wonder if that's what the $50 credit/rebate is from.

If you last upgraded in 2010, you should get 1 more NE2 credit with this upgrade. When you go to upgrade again, you won't get it though.

It is called $50 loyalty discount to encourage you to renew contract at Verizon Wireless rather than going to a competitor.

Hmm... do I simply call retentions and say that a friend said that when ordered it, he got a customer loyalty discount and ask for it to be applied to my order from this morning? My lines are secondary on fam share...

thanks
