On my Pixel XL 32 gig, I'm using 55% (17.44 gig) of my storage. I don't know if the Pixel 4 XL will require more space for extra features that I don't presently have (i.e. use of assistant without data connection), which makes me think the 128 gig might be a better choice.

Any thoughts on this.

One YouTuber said after your phone is setup you get about ,52gb out of the 64gb free. He also said after he installed his apps and abcouplenof games it left him with ,40GB. That's still a decent amount for the average person. I've always gotten the 64 and been happy with it.

I actually think you'll be ok with 64 gb.
I ordered the 4xl 64gb last week and I'm trading in my 3xl that also has 64 gb.
I just looked at my 3xl and I've used less than 28 gb.
Now, I'm not a huge user that stores tons of video and pics or plays lots of games, so it works for me.
Based on the fact you're using under 18gb on your pixel, I'd save the $100. You should be fine.
Just my opinion.

I actually record a lot of videos of my kids and take tons of photos but with the Google photos unlimited back up I just clear my phone every couple of weeks. Fyi I know pixel 4 won't store original resolution video and photos, but still high quality and I'm happy with it.

Thanks. I do the same with my pics, which keeps a lot of space open. I also tend to clear my cache for YouTube Music every few months.

Thanks. I don't play games and only keep apps I actually use. Since 28 gig isn't even half of 64 gig, I feel good about that 64 gig will get me through three years.

I went for the 64. I dont take lots of pictures or videos, is stream my music and I use google drive for files. I have only use 42% of my 64 on the pixel 3a.

I've got 64gb on my 2xl with almost 25gb free.

I don't care about original quality. The high quality is fine for most everything we do with photos these days.

Bottom line if you've got 15 to 20 gigs free already at 64... Stick with it.

I went with the 128 simply because I could. But normally, I do get the smallest...as long as its at least 64 gb. I am also heavily invested in the cloud connections with OneDrive, Google Drive and iCloud. so, there is never a hurt for storage space. Where I get concerned is the size of apps and OS. On my pixel 3xl I used about 40gb between apps and os. Sure thats enough...especially when you remember when we used to juggle 1, 2, 3 and 4 mb.

The rule has always been..get what you can afford. If the extra $100 is too much, get the 64.
