Mine shows only either yellow or orange and I think this is affecting my battery.

On all my phones in the past it was green most of the time.

I can understand some yellow at my home in the suburbs but even when I'm at work in the city it is still only yellow.

Btw I'm on Verizon.

I also tested the signal with an app and I was around - 100 when it shows yellow in places I know it should be green.

Try updating the PRL, and the network connections. Then maybe rebooting it. That might make a difference.

Click on the graph, and then look below the graph. There is cell reception GPS wifi awake and others.

This phone seems like it doesn't have the best radio for verizon frequency. I don't monitor battery that closely but it seems like voice and data reception leave something to be desired. I used to get 30 mb down at home and on my 6p its only around 11

What did you use to test this? Do me a favor and check under the stock battery app. Is yours green?

If I'm not mistaken, all Snapdragon 808/810 devices use the same modem so it should have no problem with Verizon unless there is an antenna design issue.

I'm showing green reception all day in philly on tmobile. Was almost all orange and yellow on the MXPEi just had. Definitely getting better battery because of it

There is no updating PRL on 4G phones with Sim Cards. It happens automatically. Updating PRL was for older Verizon 3G phones and was accomplished by dialing *228. On a personal note, I am getting the same crappy coverage in my office in Jersey City on Verizon on my 6P that I got on my Moto X. Completely drains and kills the battery as it hops between 1x, 3G, and LTE signals.

First few days I had my 6P I was out of town and I had great signal and AMAZING battery. Seriously the best battery life I've ever experienced on a phone. Ever. Even in a very crowded area with lots of use all day. Blew me away.

At home I get 2-3 bars in my apt (on tmobile) and my 6p, even when just sitting on my table, needs to be charged twice a day. It dies so fast and it really frustrates me because I know it could be so much beter. I imagine it "must" be the signal, but I don't know what I can do about it. It also shows as almost entirely orange or yellow :/

No, if your on a CDMA carrier (ie: Sprint, or Verizon) you can update the PRL. Settings>more>cellular networks>carrier settings>update PRL. It's good to do this once a month or so.

Again, this is not necessary with modern phones. It's all handled by the phone. No longer needed to update manually.

Try Advance 4G LTE Mode... Re: 6p cell reception and battery life

You may also try to use Advance 4G LTE mode.
I did this on Verizon and swear my battery life is better.
In this mode the phone only uses the LTE radio and shuts the CDMA radio down (Unless there is no or very poor LTE signal). That's one less transceiver draining your battery.
