Unlocked 6P. Part of beta program so I had 7.1.2 beta build NPG47i installed, Got an OTA update to 7.1.2 final release build N2G474. After install and reboot, I got prompted to install Beta NPG47i again. Spoke with Google and the guy explained that I will always get that prompt unless I leave beta program and that it's a newer version than before (even though version number is identical). Sounds like BS since that has not happened with previous versions and it makes no sense at all from software versioning logic. Any clues? Similar experiences?

Same here, let me know what happens when you update again. Surely the beta has ended if a stable version has been released? It's huge too. The stable update was only 24mb

I just unenrolled from the beta program. Notification went away and that's it really. Stable build and April security patch.

This is how I stopped the update loop. You need to un-enroll from the Beta Program once you see the "Update Available" prompt.

I got it as well but didn't look closely enough at which build number it was and updated back to the beta version. Apparently they corrected it so it wouldn't keep coming back and now I'm stuck on the beta version. It won't pull the final build anymore. Called Google and they said they'd allow me to pay my deductible on Nexus Protect and they'd send me a new one. What a joke.

And this comes after I entered the beta program last September/October to get 7.0 and was stuck on that and the December security patch until March. I did several FDRs, entered and left the beta program several times before it finally took in the middle of March. Now I'm right back to where I started with 7.1.2.

I'm really starting to question how great Google's updates are. I've had to screw around more with these updates than I have with any other phone. If they want to compete with Apple they need to up their game. I might expect this from a new company like OnePlus, but not one that's been around as long as Google and certainly not one that is the main player behind Android itself! I might be switching to a different Android OEM around or possibly switch to iOS, at least they seem to have their $hit together. There is no excuse to have this many issues after the sale at this point. Everyone raved about their excellent support, but that must've been pre 6p/5x. Right now I'm ready to try and cure it with my old .45acp.
