Is there a way to enable 720p through rooting or hacking?

Also, how's the processor? I hear this phone lags a lot.

Seems to be the bloatware that drags it down. the latest OTA upgrade made it worse. XDA Developers Forum has ways to root the phone, remove the bloatware and increase the clock speed: T-Mobile Sidekick 4G - xda-developers

The display model at the T-Mobile store only supported 720 x 480 video recording. 720p is 1280 x 720.

OK, I was going by spec sheets which aren't always accurate. You are correct. 720x480 is the max.

I was wondering if it could support 720p via rooting/hacking. The Nexus One was ability to shoot in 720p after a dev at XDA hacked it.
