I'm using a Samsung Galaxy Tab A 2019 version. It's pretty slow (geek ench single core score around 150, multicore around 500). I really like this size, very handy, but don't see many others anymore. This size. I mostly just check news, sites like this. etc. I don't watch movies or even many videos. And I've never used any Apple devices so I'd rather stay with Android that's familiar. Any ideas?

I have the Lenovo Tab M9 with 4 GB RAM, which has been a very good all around device (and very affordable as well). I used to have a Galaxy Tab A7 lite, which got really sluggish, which is why I switched to this tablet -- haven't seen any significant drop in performance over the years. It's only 720p, but for this size screen, I think that's totally acceptable. Plus it has nice stereo speakers.

I'm just using a Firetablet HD10
It's more than enough to read books watch YouTube and movies. Had to basically do some lite hacking to get it to run Google apps though.

I have a Fire 8" and I got it for reading Play books on a larger screen. (I am doing this through the browser, since Amazon doesn't have Google Play App support). They're pretty cheap...about $70.

You can get Google Play services and playstore installed on fire tablets it's pretty easy really. Just just do a search for it in your browser and download and install 3 files. Takes about 20 minutes depending on download spreads.

I was just looking at this last night. I did at least want to make that known to the OP so they weren't blind sided by Google not being there.
