8GB internal?

So the specs say it has 8 gig internal, but when I access the about device section it says there's only 5. Is there something I'm missing?

A bolt of lightning just struck. that "missing" 3-ish gig is attributed to the OS, yes? Blond moment? Maybe... Someone please tell me if I answered my own question?

Yes; that 3gb is for the OS.

I haven't gotten an SD card myself yet to expand that storage, but might soon.
