I rooted, but when I do the 8X interrupt to go back to stock, b&n, it says downloading software, but once it reboots, everything is the same.

The reason I'm trying to go back to stock is because for some reason, I'm rooted with the stock nook color as my launcher?? I don't have the android os on there??

Help!!

The basic rooting does not replace the launcher. If you want a new launcher you need to download it and install it after you root. I have the Zeam launcher installed.

I don't think I even have froyo though. When i go to settings and about device, its still b&n.

Isn't that why we put anuto-nooter on?

No. Auto-nooter roots the existing installation of Android on the NC, Eclair. If you want to run Froyo you need to use the SD card install aka Nookie Froyo.

yeah, HUGE difference between rooting and adjusting your home screen. That's like saying "Well, I changed the starter in my car from keys to a push button, but it doesn't go any faster!" Rooting just gives you ACCESS to do all the things you WANT to do (home replacement like ADW, Launcher Pro, various apps, etc) but it doesn't DO all of that for you. Congrats my friend, you've been given the keys to the kingdom, it is now yours to bend to your will.
