Has anyone else had GPS issues since upgrading to 9.0? My OG Pixel XL has lost signal in both Waze and Google Maps since the update where I never had a problem before. I was under open skies with no obstructions around.

Not mine. I did a (for me) long drive last week after updating, and, aside from the fact that it won't recalculate with mobile data turned off (which is normal) it worked fine - Pixel 2. Even under light tree cover, during our normal "Noah's Flood" afternoon thunderstorm. *I* couldn't see where I was a few times, but it could.

I'm having GPS issues too with an OG Pixel XL. Google Maps was freaking out and couldn't find a signal several times in the heart of Los Angeles.

Yes, I have as well on Pixel XL. I'm on Project Find and they want to change out my device. For $99 I might as well get the 3

Im having the same issue ever since I applied Pie 9.0 my gps (google maps) has been searching and jumping around with no turn by turn navigation. Same issue for all gps apps, I was able to troubleshoot this issue further with a variety of play downloaded gps apps and they all lock (fix) on satellites. Everything else on the phone works without issues. I called google's support and I was really disappointed they provided elementary troubleshooting clear app cache, reboot in safe mode and factory reset. Since that didnt resolve the issue they told me to take it to u break it i fix it since it was out of warranty.

Im thinking about flashing the os back to oreo and test my gps to see if gps functionality is restored. I kinda wish support pulled logs, etc to actually troubleshoot this issue rather than support their software.

If anyone out there has advice please advise.

I wish I had advice, but I'm having similar problems. Did you flash back to oreo yet and if so, did you problems resolve?

I'm seriously considering jumping to the OnePlus 6t.

I have a new Xiaomi Mi A2. Since my upgrade to Android 9 Pie, my GPS is not working.
I've tried several tools and navigation apps, without any result.
Google Maps loses gps connection after 10 seconds.

Found this tip: Go to settings, Security and location, Location, Google location accuracy and turn off Increase location accuracy.
During lunch I went for a walk and it looks like Google Maps works fine now. Later today I have to travel for about 100 km, so I will try again....

Looks like the GPS is not working OK when accuracy is turned on. With accuracy turned on, it uses gps and WiFi and provider transmission masts for location.

I have the same issue with the same phone. I did what you did. It makes things better but...
I'm considering going back to previous version. But I know it will not be that easy. Please let me know if you make it fixed.

I have the same problem with my Xiaomi Mi A1. GPS worked like a charm in lots of apps including Strava, OSMAND, and GPS Test until the update to Android 9.

Turning off Increase Location Accuracy off does not work on this phone.

Any thoughts will be greatly appreciated!

Hi all.
Happend to me too!
*TRY THIS*:
- turn off high accuracy feature. In settings>security and location>location>Google location accuracy
- turn off battery saver.
- turn off scanning. In settings>security and location>location> scroll down to advanced >scanning, and turn off WiFi scanning.
After all these are off wait for a few minutes . It worked for me !

I'm also having the same problem with the Motorola G6 + handset.
I've tried changing several settings and it did not work.

I'm having the same issue with my Moto G6. Lenovo customer support are just giving rubbish suggestions at the moment and don't appear to understand the issue is software and not hardware (they said to send it to them for a repair!). If happening on other makes and models it seems like an Android programming issue.
