A better backup program

Don't know if it's just me or what , but I can't stand LG's backup program. Is there a better one that will be better and won't force you to have the backup on the as card..I rather have it on my computer which I back up regularly.

If you are rooted the best bet is probably Titanium backup. It can sync your backups to cloud storage services. But you are probably not rooted and it's also not clear what you are expecting to be backed up.

I was using FolderSync to back up media/downloads (sync to cloud storage) until it stopped working with Box. I tried to use one of its various methods to sync to my pc instead and just couldn't get it working. So I am interested in something to replace that, which might also be exactly what you're looking for.

Just download LG Bride to your computer. Aside from being able to install updates, it also has a backup feature.

I copy my SD card to my computer every 3 months. That would include the LG Backup file, which I create just before backing up mu SD card. Not perfect, but it works for my needs.

Forgive my ignorance on this... but doesn't Google back everything up? Don't think I've ever used a backup program before.

I'm not sure whether Google backs up everything. I've been using My Backup Pro for years because I didn't want to risk losing messages and phone logs, and I'm not sure whether Google keeps those now. Does anyone else know?

I've also noticed that not all device backups stored in Google Drive are available when I attempt to restore other devices with the same account. I tried restoring a new Moto G5S Plus from my LG G6 backup, but it didn't show up after I signed into my Google account. It could work similarly to Apple iCloud backups, which aren't backwards compatible between major platform updates.
