Hello All,

I've successfully installed drivers for the VZW Galaxy Nexus on my Windows 7 machine using the Nexus Toolkit and am seeing the device appear properly in Device Manager. My Next steps, as I understand it are to:

  1. Back Up My Data
  2. Unlock the device (which will reformat all of my data)
  3. Wipe Dalvik Cache
  4. Download Bugless Beast
  5. Flash Bugless Beast to my Nexus
  6. Flash Radios from the Bugless Beast download page to my phone

Is there any other step I'm missing? Do I have the ROM and Radios flashing in the right order?

Thanks to anyone willing to lend me a hand  -Matt

There are no new radios. Are you on 4.0.4? You'll have the radios.

Here are the steps you should take:

(1) Backup your data
(2) Unlock your device
(3) Use the toolkit to ROOT and INSTALL a custom recovery (ClockworkMod is the popular one)
(4) Set up the phone after that, download Bugless Beast, place it on your SDcard
(5) Reboot into recovery
(6) Wipe data, cache, dalvik cache, and format the system
(7) Flash Bugless Beast
(8) Reboot and setup your device

what does formatting the system do?

Mine went:
Download sms backup and restore
Use Wugs to unlock/root with permanate CWM
Ti Backup all user apps
rom mgr - flash CWM recovery - backup current rom - reboot
Put zip on sd card
Reboot into recovery
Wipe data, cache, dalvik, load rom from sd
Reboot and set up

Thanks for the reply back! I am on 4.04, the part that made me question radios was the post by Peter Alfonso
As a side note, be sure to flash the latest radio and bootloader available on my downloads page, Peter Alfonso: Bugless Beast 4.1.X Jelly Bean

It sounds like the rooting and flashing process doesn't wipe the radios then?

Rooting and wiping won't wipe the radios....and custom ROMs don't include them.

The bootloader comment makes sense, JB uses a new bootloader and it's generally suggested you update to that.

Once you break the OTA path you are responsible for keeping your own bootloaders and radios up to date. His comment was probably a general reminder so those who never updated their radio don't blame Bugless for "poor signal".
