I currently have a s7 edge. Before that a note 7, s6, note 4, s4, and a note 2. Seeing a pattern here? I'm considering the 2 XL. For the most part I have loved them all. In all my years with all the phones I've had I've never broken a screen until Samsung started with the crazy edge displays. My s7 edge has had to be replaced 3 times. Doesn't look like they are going away any time soon. Seeing lots of great reviews but also some that have me concerned about the 2 XL.
I know the 2 XL has a curved screen but it doesn't seem to be as pronounced as the edge phones. I know with my s7 finding a good tempered glass screen protector is almost impossible. Has anyone had any luck finding one for the XL? I try to be extremely careful with my phone but sometimes accidents just happen. I don't want to constantly be paying a deductible and setting up new phones because one little drop totally destroyed the screen.
I'm loving all the camera reviews and the thought of never needing to carry another camera with me at all times. You never know when you might want to get a good shot of something.
The Bluetooth reviews have me a little worried. Is this something that may have been an issue but has now been fixed with an update? I travel a lot for work. Sometimes it's in my work vehicle and others in my personal vehicle. Most mornings I have to leave extremely early. I'm not a morning person at all so usually I am rushing to my car and on the road immediately. Is the Bluetooth connectivity really as bad as some reviews say? Will the navigation voice play over the speakers? Am I going to have to reset it to connect to my vehicle every day and forget old connections every time? Every day I travel to a different location so this is something I'm very concerned about.
What about the blue screen reports? The display I played with it didn't seem noticeable. A lot of reviews say you have to be holding the phone at an almost unviewable angle to see it.
What about the size? I've had several notes in the past. Some seemed huge. The note 7 was the perfect size. Actually it's been my favorite of all my Samsung phones. Not too big...not too small. I've played with the XL in the store however it is not in a case (mine will be) and with the security thing attached to the back it's hard to really get a feel for size. Being a female with smallish hands I'm wondering if it will be too big. Any ladies have any input?
I love the thought of pure Android and less glitchiness (is that even a word). Seems lately I'm always having issues with my phone freezing up more than in the past. At this point in the game I'm wondering if I should wait for the specs on the s9, see what Google offers in their next phone, or bite the bullet and give the 2 XL a try. Thoughts?
