That's one massive looking gnarly lump of an add-on "module," but LG's certainly got my attention. It's the first rumored phone that I'm truly curious to know more about, simply because of the leaks re. a "Magic Slot function."

Could be the 32 bit ESS DAC + amp module. Looks like a vol knob and a headphone jack port cover of some sort. You'd think someone out there would leak an image thats even remotely in focus.

I've held out on keeping my LG G3 (rooted, of course) as my wife uses the G4...I didn't see it as a significant upgrade. My G3 has been flawless, still using the original battery (!), but the G4 was replaced due to the motherboard meltdown. I am curious about the G5 with its potential flexibility around the magic slot... really hoping this model kicks Samsung in its teeth and crush them in sales!

If it's the DAC then the size makes sense. A quality DAC is not usually a small thing. I would also suspect that it has a battery as well so that the phone battery life is unaffected.

If it's the camera hump/add-on thingy then IDK why it has knob for adjusting something. But it's LG, so who knows?
