A iPhone user gets green with EVO envy

It is definitely going to be cool when I am 80 and my great-great grandchildren look at me with their mouths open and say - "You were around before the Internet?" Much the same as when I talked to my great grandfather about what it was like to drive horse and buggy to the general store.

Crazy indeed.

imagine how I feel!.. I'm in college right now while all of this new technology is coming out (computer engineering major).. it feels like we can't even keep up! I'll learn something one year, just to find out that there's something new the next year! It's exciting!

This is an age old issue. Guys that were in engineering school in the late 70's and were learning mainframe tech and Fortran when the uP was taking over along with Basic and then C. Imagine the shleps in school during the late 80's and DIDN'T learn about the Internet.

Now, for the really tech aware, how many have "worked on" the Kegelmaster 2000?

And three basic channels : ABC, NBC and CBS. You could sometimes get a public channel on the UHF band if you were lucky.

Anyone remember getting cable and it was the box with the slider on it to change channels? I also remember spending HOURS watching MTV, back when they actually played music videos.

Add to that 2 PBS and 2 independents where I grew up. But one of them signed off around prime time for SelecTV. And if sky conditions were just right I might be able to DX a station or two from a market or two away.

Just a knob to change the channel on the TV when I was growing up ;).

we had a remote that was basically like a hammer and metal rod, you would push a button and the hammer would hit the rod and make a frequency that would change the channel. i think it was called a "clicker". only major problem was when my dog would shake, its collar/tags would make the same frequency and change the channel or turn up the volume. LOL!

I didn't have a cell phone when I was 16 (2001). I got my first in 2004... The LG V5550! Oh yeah! :)

I had a couple chucklehead co-workers that would page each other to 1-800 porn numbers when they first got their company pagers.

I remember those! Thanks for making me feel old! :p

16... man.. that was 1995.

I was probably playing Super Nintendo in between games of Magic: The Gathering.

I got my first PC that year. Packard Bell 486 DX2 66mhz with 4 megs of ram and a 500 meg HD(l33t!). I remember because as soon as I got the damned thing Intel unveiled that famous addage "Pentium."

It always throws me for a loop when I realize that our EVO 4G phones are scores more powerful than $1500 computers from 15 years ago.

EVO 4G FTW. That was a good story about how the iPhone users are going to feel when they see the REAL POWER of the EVO.
