I tested out a bunch of different PRLs to find which one would be best in my area. Since results may vary (wildly); treat these results as what they are. Pretty much useless to anybody who doesn't live in Lakewood, Ohio (Near Cleveland)

Anyway, these are all done with the Speedtest.net app, 4 trials for each PRL. The phone is FRESHLY FLASHED with Harmonia 1.5E, no other apps or anything. Just my Google account and the test app. I even took the SD card out after flashing it. The ONLY thing different between these tests will be the 2 minutes it takes to flash them on to the phone.

Questions and comments are more then welcome. See next post for results and whatever else I feel like posting...

Reserved for results

Taking a break. Phone is HOT and I need to get ready for my daily activities... Will continue when I get the chance. About 1/2 done.

Hope to see some results soon. I live in Euclid, Ohio (about 20 minutes away from Lakewood) and would like to see which PRL is best. Currently using 01120 which seems decent enough to give me coverage. Whenever I use any 60*** PRL's (except for the hybrid and VM stock), I seem to have problems or not as many bars as I have with the 01120.

Sitting in one spot is not a accurate PRL test lol.
3g speeds on VM can be 1000 kbps one minute then drops to 300 kbps when sprint users around you decide to load some youtube videos.

I agree. Speeds can vary wildly. I see people claiming one PRL is better than another over a 150kbps change. If you're in the same spot, unless you end up connecting to a different tower due to a PRL, I don't understand how a PRL change can affect anything.

That is why you flash the new PRL's, Virgin only connects us to certain towers by default if you flash a "hybrid" prl or one of the new prl's you will connect to more towers. Being the prpaid step child we dont always get the latest and greatest.

While the OP's intentions were good. The end results will be flawed. Unless you have some test equipment that will allow you to monitor the connections and do the test over several days keeping track of your connection and signal strength the entire time This will not give proper results.

Here Is a new prl try roaming with it, I used only affiliated networks and had roaming on, and my calling and 3g still worked. Can someone else verify

Cancel that, roaming doesn't work

I realize that. My point is that a lot of people are reporting speed changes with different PRLs that are simply due to speed variances while connected to the same tower.
