A question please...

Hi to all on the site! And Happy Thanksgiving! I have a question regarding my New Note 4.
My old Note 3 allowed me to change font size in the messaging area with the volume switches.
My Note 4 (Verizon) doesn't seem to operate the same way.

Can anyone help?? I have trouble reading it without my glasses and sometimes I can't get to my glasses quickly.

The option is there, go to the messaging app - settings - display

Hi, I found the icon for my old text program. When I hit it, it asks if i want to change. i do and i aknowleged it, but I still have the Verizon message ap as operational. Not sure how to get rid of it. Thanks,

Are there options on background colors for messaging?
