A sad day...

I want to pre-order the UniHertz Titan to try to help keep the physical-keyboard-on-a-smartphone alive but something is telling me not to.

It's a huge, heavy 303g rugged Passport clone with some questionable built-in apps like adups...

I watched a review on this phone today. It looks interesting. Mainly the 6000 mah battery for me.

It's never a good thing when there are fewer competitors. The survivors become complacent. I hate that I have to constantly buy a Samsung Note, because no other manufacturer will offer anything similar in specs and functionality.

Blackberry has never been a viable competitor, though.

It's sad for sure, but unfortunately the days have changed for them. At one time they were the superior device for the hardcore power user that relied on communication. Now even though the KEY series wasn't bad and got the job done attacking emails and provided privacy, it wasn't much to win over the Note fans. I live in the corporate world, most of all Note users that I work with were one time BlackBerry users and left BlackBerry because of how powerful the Notes have been. The iPhone users today are mostly just Apple fans.

NOOOOO the end of an era, for sure! My first and second phones were BlackBerry devices; and then I went to Android. Very sad. But as Golfdriver said, it shouldn't be very surprising. I will miss them. And since RIM was Canadian, it's just all a bunch of sadness for this Canadian!

Oreo should be good to go for a long, long time.

There are people all around the world using Android devices still on KitKat 4.4, Lollipop 5, Marshmallow 6, etc

I say get a KEY2 LE or a Red KEY2

Unfortunately that means the people most vulnerable to security issues.

Are all the crackberry members coming here now?
They might as well shut down CB and migrate everything here.

The thing is, there are still quite a few BB10 holdouts and this is Android Central so I'm not sure if there can even be a subforum for devices like the Passport and Classic.

Well, technically they are sort of Android phones since they have the 4.3 runtime lol

webOS Nation still exists. I don't see CB going away.

Traffic is gonna get lower with no new hardware coming out.

Or, it will be an unofficial fan site for any PKB devices that may pop up lol, starting with the Titan and Pro 1

That would be a great idea, since those are niche devices that would get lost in the shuffle amongst the "popular" device forums here at AC.

Yay! I still frequent CrackBerry from time to time.
I'm probably gonna decrease my presence in there as time goes on, since there won't be anything new anyways.

Might need to stock up on KEY2 LE's to get me through many years ahead until hopefully another better keyboard phone from any manufacturer hits the market

You are the eternal optimist!

I really wish that would happen! To this day, I miss the physical QWERTY keyboard!

IMO, for someone who was trying to resurrect a brand TCL/BBMo put fourth little effort because they were expecting BlackBerry to sell itself, didn't work out too well did it.

Bought my Motion on launch and in July/Aug of 2018 it was already evident to me things weren't going too well. So yeah not a surprise at all this happened.

Are you saying I'm asking too much?

All I want is a half decent set of 35 buttons under my screen, I hope I'm not asking too much lol

I long for the days when physicql keyboard phones were a thing! I loved my BlackBerry Q10. Touchscreen + keyboard.

To quote Hannah Montana: "You get the beeeeeest of both worlds..."
