A software update on my Lollipop!!??

Is this legit????? I bought this tab a 7 inch this summer with the full realization that there were no more software updates for it and that’s why I use a VPN but what the heck is this? Is it legit? I’m stunned.....

That looks legit: https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/galaxy-tab-a-/SM-T280/XAR/download/T280XXS0ARK3/249347/. Notice the build date. Really strange, but maybe C Spire (aka Cellular South) realized there was some critical security flaw that had to be updated.

Interesting thank you. Yes I did do the update because I kind a googled about it but it was very difficult to find much, but anyway everything seems to be working OK but it’s strange that it still says the last update was from a year ago in December

That's the date of the official Android security patch. The update was probably for some other bugfix.
