I STILL have not recived the Google play store 4.0 on my nexus 10. This is totalyl unacceptable. Is there anyway to force it... WITHOUT installing the APK. Im not installing any apk.

I never got an update notification, but yesterday opened up playstore to rent a movie and it was updated. Have you opened it up the last couple days?

5 minutes ago everyday!
Wow, that's quite a feat. I'm still trying to wrap my mind around that.

But yeah, relax. Nexus devices aren't at the front of the line for this sort of update. You'll get it soon enough...and you'll be completely underwhelmed and wonder why you cared so much.

The APK that was posted works perfectly fine on the Nexus 10. I downloaded it the day it was posted.
You can wait until it gets pushed OR you can download the APK. It's your choice.

FYI, the update is no big deal!

I got it on my Droid4 the day after it was released. My N10 got it late night on Monday this week. Not sure why it seems so random.

My gs2 got it just yesterday, still no on my n10.
Do a hard reset and it may come.

The Nexus line is first for OS updates, not necessarily app updates. Just curious, why not download the apk? In the time it took you to start this thread you could have had it.

Edit: If you or anyone else are sick of waiting this link is for you. Just make sure unknown sources in enabled in settings>security >check unknown sources. I have personally verified that this works. It is the official Play Store app from Google.

Run any available app updates from Play Store.

Go to "Settings --> Apps" and clear data from Play Store app.

Open one of the Google Play apps (but not the store), i.e. Music, Books, Magazines, etc. Click on the Play Store icon to launch Play Store from within the app. Accepts terms and conditions and you should now have the newer version....

I updated my note and tab using the apk file the day it came out. It's running fine on both devices. My boyfriend has an S3 and is still waiting for his update.

I uninstalled the newest update and tried your method. Didn't work for me.

I tried that and there were terms and conditions but it was just that, no update accompanied the terms. Still on version 3.10.14.

I'm just patiently waiting, no rush for me however I would have thought the update would have hit the N10 sooner then some devices getting it.

Why did you uninstall anything?

Hmm...that method has worked for me in the past, and I just tried it yesterday on my N10 and it worked for that too... Perhaps that method only works if your device already has the newer version "queued up"...?

Tried twice. Even uninstalled the updates. Just goes back to 3.10.14

I downloaded the latest apk version so I uninstalled it to see if your method would work.
