Run any available app updates from Play Store.

Go to "Settings --> Apps" and clear data from Play Store app.

Open one of the Google Play apps (but not the store), i.e. Music, Books, Magazines, etc. Click on the Play Store icon to launch Play Store from within the app. Accepts terms and conditions and you should now have the newer version....

I was on 4.0.25 that I side loaded. Just tried you method and I'm running 4.0.27 now. Thanks!
