I am sure many will disagree, but I wish I did not have to root my Android phone to have an app or setting that allows me to turn on the capacitive buttons at the bottom so they are always lit up if the screen is on.

My Incredible is rooted and I have that going on it and love it. I really wish I could do the same for my Rezound, WITHOUT rooting.

I am going to wait until the ICS OTA comes out and give it a week for all the bugs to be discussed and hopefully fixed, then I will probably root. Rooted Rezounds CAN be used as a wifi hotspot, right?? That is my only real reason for rooting...

To your main concern about the capacitive buttons, it's not a bug, it's the way HTC intended it so it won't be fixed in ICS. To the wifi tethering, yes it works just fine on the Rezound.

it doesn't take very long to get real familiar with your phone... your thumbs will find the buttons with ease... without lights...

Yeah, but I want to lights. My eyes are so much better than my thumbs' memory.

black tape over the sensor will force the capacitive buttons on all the time without root.

I think my only complaints about the lights are that when I am watching Netflix or other video in the dark they don't turn off. I am glad that they are at least red (least distracting light wave length) which is better then my T-bolt where it was very annoying .

Funny, I'm the exact opposite, I prefer my capacitive lights off permanently. I know which button is which so I don't need them especially at night since I use my phone as my bedside clock/alarm.

Oh, I am well aware that the buttons deal is not a bug. I have spent two years with the Incredible and know HTC "policy". LoL

And I have had the Rezound awhile and know where the buttons are, but I stil prefer they stay lit. That's just me...

I also know about the tape over sensor trick but ick, no thanks! Haha

A guy can dream, right? Heehee

All that yet I am tapping away on the keyboard of my iPhone 4!
