I mispoke, the edge lighting can be defined/selected but it does NOT affect the screen saver.

Once again, Samsung logic escapes this Luddite.

It lights it up briefly to notify you , the double tap is a good solution not sure why you don't like it ? The reason for double tap so you don't get accidental touches compared to one touch wake up

No it does not. AOD is not enabled on the A15.

The edge lighting selections are demo'd when you select one, but the screen saver does not show it.

Edge lighting is a different function from the AOD. They are not related.

Although, I could never get Edge Lighting to work right on my old S20 FE either.

Instead, I use the app, Glimpse Notifications which briefly lights up the screen to show a new notification pop-up. Then turns back off after about 5 seconds. Like my old BlackBerry Z10 used to do.

It shows a notification without AOD
Look at my screenshot and the 2 are circled make sure are selected all apps and choose edge light then under notifications select repeat notifications and it's duration should light up the screen
