[A5] How can I fix my sticky volume button?

The other day I noticed something sticky on the back of my phone (think it was bbq sauce). I cleaned it off and then the next day I noticed by volume buttons didn't feel as clicky as they used to or as clicky as my lock button.

Me and my girlfriend tried scraping the muck out with a pin and managed to get some of it out. However the buttons are still sticky. It just doesn't feel like they're being pressed down at all.

I've heard to use rubbing alcohol, will this help clear the sticky stuff from the buttons or is there something else I should do?

get a cotton bud / Q-tip and just rub away at the button, eventually the stickiness will dry up and crumble away. Don't use too much liquid as your phone isn't waterproof
