"Abnormal Reset" - my M8 keeps randomly rebooting

I've experienced little-to-no issues with my M8 since I got it in May, but recently (within the past couple of days) my phone has started to randomly restart and when it boots back up I see an error alert (!) in the notification bar indicating that the phone has recovered from an "abnormal reset" and the error message suggests sending the log file to HTC.

Is anyone else experiencing this or heard of others with the issue? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

Nope, it's stock. It's happened a few times now. Once when I wasn't using it and twice while it was in use.

Check and Uninstall apps you recently installed. It could be a bug in any of the apps. If it doesn't work, try factory reset if you don't mind.

Might be a dumb point, but you're not pressing the volume rocker when powering on, are you? This does "interesting" things.

Haven't recently installed any apps in the timeframe that this issue has been occurring.

And no, I'm not pressing the volume button when powering on.

Just to verify, when doing a factory reset, Play Store apps will redownload but third party apps I will have to manually reinstall, is that correct?

Thanks for the suggestions.
