Abnormal resets?

I've had two abnormal resets in as many weeks. Both times my phone tries to do something (launch camera or play a movie in Netflix) and the screen goes black for a while before resetting.

Anybody else run into this issue?

Also, yesterday my phone's fingerprint scanner stopped working so I had to restart to get it to work.

Love the phone and don't want to RMA since I don't have a backup.

Any advice?

Could I factory reset and restore from Google backup or do I need to reinstall fresh?

my suggestion would be to do a fresh install. if you do a Google backup it may be something within an app that is causing the phone to reset.

The question is, what kind of backup are you referring to? If you're talking about a Google "backup" in terms of it syncing all of your stuff once you've completed a hard-reset then you should be fine. All they're really doing is syncing contacts and calendars and whatnot. As far as the apps go, Google just reinstalls them from the Play Store. They don't actually install them from a backup of your device. Plus, you can tell it not to install any apps and do that yourself, manually.

Dave your texts and call logs and voicemails, if you need them, before the reset and you're fine.

Yes, keep us updated about what's happening with the phone. Glad to hear it's a good experience otherwise! I too was going to suggest a restart and then a factory reset; so long as you have everything important backed up.

Didn't reset my one and so far haven't had any more issues. *Fingers crossed*

I'm loving the phone, especially the battery life and camera. No regrets!

Did a hard reset after the phone shut down again last night. Frustrating to say the least. Hoping this fixes things for now.
