About the US Cellular buyout by Sprint...

i have been asking everyone from us cellular and sprint and no one would give me a date on when the sale is final...where did u see or hear the closing would happen between may 7-14......thanks

Sprint has already announced that NONE of the US Cellular phones will work on Sprint lines. You have the choice of either buying a Sprint phone and getting on their plan or going somewhere else.

US Cellular has already updated their coverage map to show all the effected areas to be now in roaming. I was quite happy with USC's service and sad to have to leave them. I was really hoping they push the faster speeds this year but guess that don't matter anymore.

I would prefer Verizon's network but Sprint is a lot cheaper and has no data cap. And from what I've been able to find out, Sprint is actively upgrading service in my area.

Nope you have to get new phones abd account. Two different networks. They are shutting off both areas that were bought out. Either swith to sprint or have a dead phone

Not at all. US Cellular is actually doing well for themselves overall. The problem is Chicago and the lack of spectrum here.

This article explains everything.

(UPDATED) Sprint-USCC spectrum deal: Sprint gets 20 MHz broader in the "City of Broad Shoulders" - Sprint 4G Rollout Updates

I still find it bizarre that USC is based in the Chicago area yet they sold the Chicago territory to Sprint. They even kept the naming rights to Comiskey Park ( aka U.S. Cellular Field) where the White Sox play.

I would not be surprised if there is a larger plan in motion, if they were to sell the company Sprint would be a likely candidate.

Sprint just don't like competition. They'll buy out someone before fixing all the service issues they are having

The only bigger plan for uscc is to see how many customers it can screw. Worse company I have ever had. I believe sprint will fully own them in 3 years tops
