My phone refuses to connect to my pc unless I boot it recovery mode which does me no good because I cant transfer files in recovery, I have drivers installed, and in download mode Odin doesnt even recognize it. Running EB01 with voodoo. Whats its deal?

I recently lost my old sd card so I replaced it with a new one, but I dont think that would make it not recognize the device. Any help would be appreciated.

this is strictly a guess here but i'm thinking it's one of 3 things, and you should be able to troubleshoot them..

1) the data part of the cord is bad (try another cord)
2) the usb port is bad (assuming you didn't try another one already)
3) the usb connection at the phone is bad. (no real way to test this, unless you take it to a verizon store after puttting it back to stock, you may walk out with a new phone)

i know this isn't much help but that's the first 3 that came to mind...

Maybe I should specify better, the phone registers being plugged into usb, the computer only reads it as Unknown USB Device(Cannot find drivers). Regardless of usb settings on my phone it never says anything different on the PC unless I reboot into recovery mode, to which it says samsung device or something along those lines.

Stupid, I know, but I gotta ask.....Debugging on? Did you recently install a new anti-virus.....might be blocking. Also, have you tried downloading the drivers again? I had a similar issue awhile back and the drivers had become corrupt. Downloaded again and was good to go.

I would try to uninstall/reinstall the drivers, and as others mentioned make sure debug mode is on and that you activated file sharing (if prompted in the notifications bar). The sad state of connectivity on this phone is that every rom does it a bit differently. It sounds like the phone is OK but windows doesn't know how to access it. Also, you can transfer files when in recovery... you just need to use ADB. I know its a PITA but its possible (and has gotten me out of several jams). Best of luck!

Another thing to try is to connect your phone to your USB and wait for it to not work. Now reboot your PC with your phone plugged in and see if it comes up properly. I used to have a Fascinate before I went to the charge and this happened to me a few times and rebooting my PC with phone connected seemed to fix it.

If you plug your phone into a Linux box it will work fine and as you expect, this is a small issue with Windows.

This is a good suggestion. The reverse also has been known to correct this problem. Connect phone to pc with usb cord while usb debugging is enabled and reboot the phone.
