about to fuel phone with cyanogenmod 7.1

ok before i give my phone a make over i would like to know from my android family if theres any known issues cyanogenmod 7.1 has so i can beaware of problems that may happen.

From my experience with Nexus S running CM7.1, I've had multiple freezes where I had to pull the battery. That's really the only major issue I can think of.

Car dock audio does not work. Sometimes phone keeps ringing even after you answer.
Otherwise it has been awesome coming from stock touch wiz.

Been a while since I ran CM7 - just too many little things didn't work, but what drove me away was the borked video camera. I could only record at low res and that's a definite no no too daffy. Anyone know if this is fixed? Are there any other major broken elements?

I seem to remember the phantom ring being solved via the Glitch kernel? What kernel are you running under CM7?

As far as battery pulls - don't do it! It can hurt your SD card and it's a pain. Just hold down Volume Up and Power and it'll reboot. Just need to pass on this tip whenever I hear "battery pull".

i want to thank everyone who replied. it makes me think twice about doing the make over but im tired of this fascinate and just rooting it has done nothing to me but want more change for my device. hey you only live once.

Just my two pennies... have you thought about MIUI? I really like it with all the customizing that you can do! One draw back that kept me away was the iPhoneish feel to the launcher. But you don't have to use the stock launcher. There are plenty of great launchers that you can use.

2 cents + after using CM7 for a while I tried MIUI and LOVED IT. Just had the same issues with the camcorder etc. which may or may not be corrected. MIUI is fantastic but yes a bit iPhone ish

Occasionally I will have an issue with the menu button - something triggers it and context menus and the keyboard will pop up constantly. This is unexplained, but usually goes away after 20 minutes or so.

OK so i chickened out i wanted to rebuild my phone but was looking for a complete make over that was as stable as the original without the nonsense of bloatware and crap we don't need, this don't work or that don't work so i'm on a quest to find from everyone which is stable with no problems which is probably impossible. if i find or if you guys can find for me a a completely well built program with no problems i will give a good donation which i had in the passed when this site first opened up. i didn't have this name at the time. i was grateful the help was here when we all needed it.

ok so i did the makeover to cyanogenmod 7.1 and i must say i love it a few small problems but its ok it was a little glitchy at frist and the menu button didnt work well i gave it a few days and now im happy it has to work it self out. so anyone who wants to download it make sure you give it a few days to work itself in.
