for a first time rooter, CM7 is pretty nice. its stock android with a few extras. I personally like the Sense ROMs. Try Myn's or MikFroyo. my personally favorite is Koni's ELITE Series III

and as for your first question....im probably not reading it right but do you mean recover your apps one by one?? you might be able to get CM7 to automatically reload them (i think this is possible). other than that you would need to download them one by one or use some type of back up (i recommend Titanium BackUp) you would still need to reload them one by one tho

hopefully that helps ya! if you have any other questions, dont hesitate to ask!!

First off thanks for the reply... i meant to recover all my apps all at once as oppose to downloading them one by one.

no problem man im here to help!

i figured that what you meant.....like i said...when you log into your google account and the market, your apps should be in the midst of getting recovered...i think thats a feature of AOSP-based ROMs (Android Open Source Project incase you didnt know what AOSP was)

but definitely try Titanium Backup...it does help!! just only back up your apps....dont do anything too fancy with it :p

OP... try out MyBackup(Root), its in the market. Titanium Backup is good but you do have to reinstall each app one by one with it. My Backup you make your backup then when its time to reinstall you just hit restore and choose your what backup you want to restore and let it do it's thing, one click!!!

If you have the Pro licence for Titanuim Backup (about $6 or so) you can do batch backup of Apps and Settings, sync to dropbox, do batch restores, plus more. I have not tried out MyBackup yet, but I have had great luck with Titanium.
