OnePlus One Invite Beggers

Does anyone think that the amount of people begging for an invite is pretty pathetic ?? I understand that the Oneplus is a great phone at an unbeatable price but come on people preserve your dignity begging for the right to buy a phone is pretty pathetic. I believe that it's perfectly reasonable to contribute on the forum but do so in a way that preserves your dignity.

Does anyone think its pretty pathetic how people are groveling at the sight of an invite ??? Just curious

I have two invites to share

First two to PM me get them. Only 14 hours left.

For someone who wants to have a good device at a reasonable price, no, I wouldn't say it's pathetic. The device is rumored to go on sale to the masses in October, so it'll be interesting to see how inventory holds up and if there really will be a demand for the device beyond the current invite system that is in place now.

Re: OnePlus One Invite Beggers

hopefully at the same prices and in both colours if im getting a oneplus one I'd want to get a white 64 GB version.

Re: OnePlus One Invite Beggers

Obsolutely! But they are not the only company that's guilty of creating such marketing gimmick. They probably looked at how people would line up and camp out outside of Apple store just to be able to buy an iPhone. OPPO probably said "hey, if we can only do the same, but we don't have the retail stores". So instead, they hyped up the product a few months before it was released, and created a high demand for it by using an invitation only sale, which made the buyers felt like they're getting something extrat ordinary. When was last time a Chinese phone stirred up such frenzy selling in U.S? Wake up and smell the coffee people! You are buying something that's made in China! A country that's known for making cheap electronics and bad customer support. I mean think about it, there are already people taking about in order for them to make good on the phone's warranty, they need to return the phone back to China for repair. Are you crazy? When was last time you buy a phone that you need to send it back to the country of origin for the warranty repair? Notice only the Chinese companies do this. I mean HTC don't make you send the phone back to Taiwan for repair, or Samsung to Korea etc. It's same old turd that OPPO brilliantly spins around and turn it into gold. Regardless, it's an ingenious marketing scheme.

I don't think any user on this forum has come across as pathetic. I actually think that's a pretty harsh statement. It would be easy to say yes, but fact is anyone who has this phone at one point wanted a invite (for the record I was given one 4 weeks ago by saying I was going to get one from oppomart, a member of this forum had an extra one and gave it to me, without me asking).

Some people I guess can be desperate in their pursuit, but I haven't came across one yet. Some will likely disagree but it is a PRIVILEGE to buy a phone with loaded specs like this for $350. You won't get one from HTC, Samsung or LG for that price with these specs, and they won't make you get "invited" to pay $650 to get a phone either. If someone wants to overpay just because of a brand name, that's their choice, if someone only has $400 to spend and wants the best specs on the market and decides they gotta do whatever they gotta do to to get an invite, then I'm not gonna judge them. OnePlus created this system, blame them. But it feels a little too much like judging someone to say "pathetic "

Re: OnePlus One Invite Beggers

Not on this site, i mean everywhere watch a youtube video about the oneplus or go on their forum it seems like people are begging for an invite.

Re: OnePlus One Invite Beggers

And I wouldn't even say begging, but more just asking, sometimes fervently. :D
But it will be nice if everyone can get one starting October. As for having to return it to China, that's where they have their factories and stock. Why should they waste money on a western office space when stock just has to travel back and forth to China? That would make the phone more expensive too.

Re: OnePlus One Invite Beggers

I suppose you shouldn't call them "beggers" either. That definition doesn't apply in this case, consider they still have to pay money for it at the end.

I know a few reliable Chinese sellers that do sell the opo.

Its all cool and you pay a little more. Downsite you will never be in direct contact with 1+ but with the reseller and you do het color OS on it instead of cyaogen.

Re: How to Get a OnePlus One Without an Invite!

It would be cheaper to just buy an invite from ebay and order from OnePlus. Although you are not supposed to sell invites, some do and I would not be surprised if some were available now on ebay.

To bad it's only on T-Mobile and AT&T. I saw the review on it. I was impressed, and the phone looks promising.

Invitations

How long after placing an order for the OnePlus One do you get your invitations? How many do you get?

I ordered last week 8-26 and received the phone on Friday 8-29. I still have not received any invitations to give out.
