Access to other photo gallery software from messaging on HTC One (M8)

Messaging attachment question for the M8.....

Is there some way to have messaging pull picture files from a different picture program like QuickPic or google+? The only options are to use "camera", "gallery", or "drawing".

I believe the only way to use other apps is to share the pictures from within those apps and select your messaging app.
