Accessing speakerphone from keypad screen???

Did anyone else notice that you can't access the speakerphone or mute buttons when the keypad is showing? To me this is very frustrating when driving in the car and making a call and it immediately goes to the keypad. I want to be able to get to the speakerphone button quickly from that screen but can't...

Most other droids and iPhones have this.

I hope HTC fixes this by adding the speakerphone and mute buttons to the keypad screen.

Anyone else having this issue???

Once the call is placed you can switch to speaker, but it seems not before.
