Question Accidental Touch Protection Not Working?

I prefer to have "Fingerprint always on," even when the screen is off. I also use "Accidental touch protection," and this was never a problem with the S21.

But with these settings on the S24, my phone is trying to unlock in my pocket. I can feel the vibration, and it shows me a message that the "fingerprint doesn't match" because of bumping against my leg in the pocket. Touch sensitivity is turned off, FWIW (although I don't think that matters).

Anyone else have this issue, and hopefully have any advice to fix this?

You can try in settings>general management>reset>reset settings it will reset this to default settings if don't want to factory reset.

Reset settings does this :
Performing these steps resets all system settings (e.g. ringtones, sound settings, display settings, etc.) back to their default values. Personal data, such as downloaded apps and media (pictures, videos, music), aren't affected; however, the device automatically restarts in order to apply any changes.

i have accidental touch protection ON, but often when i put my phone in my pants pocket, it dials emergency number and 911 calls back.

so how is turning if off solves anything because the lock screen will show up after you bump the phone, and if it thinks you entered the wrong pin several times, the phone will get locked out, right?

Does anyone have a good suggestion??

What about lock instantly with side button? Lock before putting it in your pocket.

In settings>Lock screen>secure lock settings>if you have enabled factory reset after 20 tries it will

Tap to turn fingerprint is so when an accidental touch it doesn't trigger factory unlock or other function it's the more easier source by accident to hit

Removing the camera and phone dialer shortcut at the bottom of lock screen also prevents dialing 911

I had this issue but it's because I also had the gesture for double tap screen to awaken device. In your pocket, if the phone bounces back and forth a little it will activate the display and likely another incidental tap from your leg unlocks the lockscreen.

Ever since disabling this gesture I've not had the issue once.

I have the camera and torch instead of the phone on lock screen and also have tap to turn on fingerprint.

Yeah, it kind of sucks to have to keep going into settings to toggle off when I'm doing activities which replicate the phone constantly tapping against my leg as it's in my pocket (mowing, going for a walk, etc).

I've thought about trying to create a Bixby routine, because all other times I want that gesture active, but not sure if it's possible.
