Accidental touches

2 weeks in almost and it is clear that accidental touches are more prevalent on the S10+ than any other phone I have used to date.

I am not talking about the in pocket stuff but more regular opening of the apps on the left or right side of the dock or right/left edge of the screen when I put the phone down. Also am finding watching media awkward and there just does not seem to be a right way to hold it without triggering something on the screen.

Anybody else? and are there any solutions I may have missed?

You are correct, accidental touches is more prevalent on the S10, even with a case on it.

Someone suggested the following app to me and so far it seems to be working, only used it for around 12 hours so far.

I haven't noticed many accidental touches. Maybe it's my case or I'm just accustomed to holding my Sammy different almost like muscle memory from the S7 Edge days or non-stop accidental touches. 😂

I've noticed it and I'm using the same cases I used with the note 9. I don't use the big cases like OtterBox defender, but it's cases I didn't have a issue with on the note 9. I do have accidental touch thing turned on also. So far this app has been working

I only find this an issue when iam typing. I keep accidentally hitting the P key . Its really annoying especially when i never had this issue with any previous curved display including the s9 plus so iam not sure why its an issue with the s10 plus. Using a case does help but i usually go naked or use a skin as iam just not a fan of cases but sadly i think iam gonna have to keep this case on just so i can type using the s10 plus ha

I get them here and there, but nothing that annoys me too much.

I feel with the width of the Pixel 3 XL, I was getting more accidental touches on the sides with that phone more. I think because it was slightly wider.

I had accidental touches on the S9 plus and Note but not at this level of frequency. I think the steeper edge curve on the 10 probably is a factor.

Out of interest are regular S10 users experiencing this too? Wondering if the extra size of the plus adds to the problem?

The size would only apply to accidental touches by the hand you're holding it in. I'm not getting any of those. I sometimes trigger accidental swipes with my operating finger.

I didn't experiment any accidental touches with a any of my cases, only when using it naked .

If it's a big problem, I I just received in the mail my latest case, an Engadget that has "raisivity" all around the phone. Very minimal on the side but enough to prevent any accidental touches.

I've noticed it when using the S10+ without Case, since putting it back in the case no more accidental touches now !

I'm sure it would improve with a case but I don't use cases.

The edge touch app has improved it it I'm still seeing it, not as big a deal now.

No solution for you but the Pixel 3 XL was by far worse, especially in YouTube, you couldn't even look at the edges without it selecting a different video. I've had a few with the S10 but not as bad as the pixel, maybe because I trained myself to avoid it on the pixel and its translating to the S10

Never had an issue on the Pixel and it's not too bad on the S10+

The Pelican Shield is high enough on the sides to mitigate accidental touches and facilitates the edge panels.
