I accidentally deleted photos and videos on my Samsung S8 Plus. The phone is on the VZW network. I would like to get the videos back. I ran a program called diskdigger and it tells me I need to be rooted in order to get these videos, photos and or text msg. back.

Any help on rooting would be appreciated and or getting my videos back.

Welcome to Android Central! Rooting is not for novices, so I would think twice before considering this. The forums at XDA-Developers.com is a good resource for rooting, but it's not a simple process. See this thread: https://forum.xda-developers.com/ve...nt/root-using-odin-modified-firmware-t3693790

Are you sure you weren't using Google Photos auto-backup, which would've automatically backed up your photos and videos to your Google Photos in the cloud? Go to photos.google.com on your computer browser and see if any of them are there.

Well good luck, and be careful about rooting. If you're not careful, you can render the phone completely useless by deleting or modifying the wrong thing. Also, the more you use your phone right now, the more likely you're already overwriting the deleted data.

Before you root, have you checked your Samsung cloud account?
