I was messing around with a task manager program (the one from the same dev as JuiceDefender) and I accidentally hit a process and I haven't been able to get on the internet unless I use pass through.

I'm thinking of 3 ways to fix this
1. Figure out what process I killed.
Involves: Finding what should be running and figuring how to get it running.
2. Root the device (HTC Inspire 4G)
Involves: Redownloading all of my apps and starting over. Possible headaches. What are the benefits of rooting anyways?
3. Factory Reset.
HELL NO

Unless there are a lot of benefits to rooting I wanna go with option 1 at all cost. Can someone help me do #1 and tell me the benefits of doing a root.

There are many benefits to rooting. I am going to be kind and tell you ONE HUGE benefit right now.

Having the ability to load a custom recovery [like Clockworkmod or AmonRA] so you can restore from a backup that which you have done.

Need I say more?

same dev as Juice Defender

That sticks out here. Not knocking that app, but part of it is designed to keep you offline.

Check your apn settings. was JD running when you started fooling with a task killer?

True. If you start digging into JD there are settings that will kill your connection. Good point.
