Android Central Question
I recently bought a phone from a third party vendor on Ebay which should be new. However, I wanted to make sure the phone is actually new by checking its battery discharge cycles. After a bit of research I found two main ways to do so:
1) a file explorer on the phone (Sys -- class --- power supply --- battery----Fg_cycle)
2) using the "Phone Info" app
These two methods are giving me different info: the file explorer charge cycle number is 0, while the app shows 300 charge cycles. Does anyone know how the app calculates battery discharge cycles, or whether it's accurate? My phone passed the refurbishment check on the app, but it was manufactured over a year ago (4/2017), which makes me a bit suspicious.
I have a couple weeks left that I can send this phone back, and I don't want to keep a phone with a 300-cycle-old battery. Thanks.
