[Ace II] Music stuttering... very annoying

I just replaced my original Galaxy Ace with a newer Ace II, and while in most respects it's an improvement, I'm having a problem with music stuttering. It is NOT the same problem identified here because it doesn't seem to matter whether the screen is on or off. I took the phone back and got it replaced over this issue - a needlessly lengthy, excruciating two-hour process - and the new one has the exact same problem, so I am guessing it's a fairly common issue with these phones. It typically happens about twice over the course of a typical 4-5 minute song, and sounds much like a CD skipping.

This happens in at least two different apps, so it's not specific to one app. In all cases I'm playing the songs off an SD card that worked fine in my original Ace - they're not on the phone itself in the strictest sense, nor are they being streamed. I don't have any unwanted apps running in the background as far as I can tell - less than my less-powerful original Ace typically had, in any case. I can supply any other information needed.

I apologize if this isn't the right forum for the Ace II, but I didn't see a specific form for it.

Excellent job of disclosing the your situation. It does appear to be the phone.

Unless your SD card is having trouble keeping up on the new hardware.

Hi.
Try something easy to help yourself to identify the problem:
-Move some songs from the external sd card into the phone internal memory, and play the songs.

A-If the songs play well without any problems?
Than definitely the problem is the external sd card.
Many sd cards performance is not good or fast enough to this phone.
A slow sd card slows the phone.
A good external SD card is expensive but worthy.

B- But if the songs don't play well after you moved them to the internal memory?
Than maybe the problem is to do with you having too many apps or data processing in your phone.
Examples:
Too many email accounts and active apps running at the same time...
You can find that out by turning flight mode On. And play the songs to see the difference.

But I strongly believe that is the former aka the SD card.

Hope you can solve your problem.
Good luck.

I know it's a pain...
Do a Google search for advised SD cards/specs for this device.
The faster the SD card (read/write), the better.
And shop around for a good deal.

Best luck to you

I replaced the card with a class 10 that I was told was a pro photographer level card, or at least was considered such when it first came out... and it didn't help in the slightest. The music still stutters, if anything, MORE than when I was using a class 4.

Any other suggestions?

That is bad luck!
I use a (class 6) and have no trouble...

I only have 2 suggestions left for a unrooted device...

1- Backup the SD card and use your phone to format the SD card.

2- try downloading music from a different source. As maybe your music is to rich/powerful for the device...

Good luck
