I'm interested in picking up a new android tablet, and was impressed be the iconia a210. only problem, im not sure if it can charge over usb? several sites state that the tablet can in facet charge over usb, however the official manuals says only to use the included ac adapter. is there no way to charge over usb on this device? i want to know before dropping $320 on one of these things.

It will probably do it, but it will be V E R Y S L O W. And if you do anything while it's charging it might not charge at all.

can anyone add any real world advice on charging using USB? There does not seem to be much info on the web other then 'not recomended' I would like a little more as i am hoping to use in a car and USB charging simplifies life alot. Does anyone have 1 and charges in a car occasionally? Maybe answer could be does it charge while USB connected to a PC and time frames. Anything would be helpful.

Hi!

By now, I'm sure you've made your decision on whether, or not, to purchase the Acer A210 tablet! If you haven't, as of yet, please note that the one, and ONLY way, to charge the tablet, is by way of either the included wall charger!, or, maybe a car charger?, but, NEVER by way of USB connection! Have a great day!:)

I pased on it cuz seemed USB charging was not an option seemed abit rare in the 10 inch size. I tried out a 7 inch and seemed usable enough that i chose the 7" galaxy2 it does charge over USB but uses a special port. I think thats changed on the newer tabs.It makes life easier if only need the microUSB cord easy to get super cheap for spares and useful on alot of phones too so less clutter.
