Action shots?

It used to be in Samsung's camera (not sure which one was first, though, if Sammy on the S4/Note 2 or Nokia) but it's been MIA for a while. I miss it, though.

If anyone else out there knows of an app that does it, I'd also be grateful!

The Sports Shot option for the Samsung Camera app came preinstalled on the S4, but on the S6 you had to download it from the Galaxy App Store, looks like that's the same for the S7. I haven't downloaded it yet so don't know how it compares to the Nokia Action Shots

Sports Mode is NOT Action Shot. On older models it was called Action Shot and it created the overlap image that the video shows. Sports Mode on all Samsung Models that it's been available for only sets up the camera to shoot at the faster shutter speeds with lower exposure times to decrease motion blur in motion shots, like sports.

Just found this out. It looks like it was called Drama Shot on older Galaxy phones.

Sony has an app called Motion Shot. From their description:
"This app allows you to capture a short movie by automatically rendering the movement into a single still image so that it appears to be a continuous picture. It is perfect for creating animated images with unique expressions in action scenes involving sports, animals, kids, friends, vehicles, airplanes and moving objects. "
