I don't like s-voice and was looking for a way to activate Google now with a voice command, just like the Google Experience Launcher (GEL). I did use GEL for a bit, but it is lacking a lot of features and I went back to Nova Prime.

Anyways, I found this app (Open Mic+), which allows me to activate Google Now by just saying "ok google" anywhere from my Note 3:

No more s-voice for me...

It seems to conflict with S voice when using Bluetooth. Tells me to turn off the app that is using the mic then locks up. Disabled S voice but still not where it needs to be yet.

I had that issue, then I enabled "Bluetooth headset" in the Google Now settings and this issue went away. Try this and see if it helps...

What is the Battery life like with this

Posted via Android Central App

I did not notice any battery life issues. I did read that if you turn on "Listen while screen is off" function, then the battery life can be significantly reduced, but I have not tested this myself yet...

So it doesn't hurt battery life? guessing it shouldn't if you aren't using it?

I have tried this app this afternoon and it is truly unbelievable!!
Utter does so many things it will take
days to learn it all!
Thanks!

I found this interferes with S Voice and Pandora and eats the battery!

Yes, this is a SERIOUS battery eater.

Installed yesterday evening an hour before bed.

Went to bed last night with 68% battery, woke up with 13%. Normally I lose 2 or 3% at most.

Yeah, I'm sure that it can be tweaked to wreak less havok, but to keep it persistent even just during the day has got to take a toll so into the trash bin it goes.
