I tried to activate remote wipe or lock within remote device manager in my vzw note 3 under google settings. I throw the toggle and it opens a screen with info and you have to click activate on bottom right. I click activate and it goes back to settings screen and it is untoggled. Any way to turn it on? Could my work email security settings be denying access to it?
I can turn on remotely find. I cannot turn on remotely erase or lock.
Any ideas? Thanks!

Look under settings-> security and see if you have allowed Android Device Manager to be a Device Administrator

I just found android device manager on list and box was unchecked. I checked it. It opened another screen which was the same as before. I clicked activate. It went back to device admin list is is unchecked again. Same problem as before.

I thought you nailed it for a second there but no luck. Thanks for trying. I have no idea what is wrong.

Hey! I found the answer. I just did a search on xda and it said to log in to google android device manager on a computer and activate it remotely. I just did that and when I went back to administrator list it is now activated! Apparently the key is to set this up from your account rather than from phone.
