Activating on Sprint requires purchase of a "Sprint ICC ID"

just got one coming to me via sprint chat told him I couldn't go to the store and he's sending it to my house.
 
Just ordered one via chat. I am also on Sero-P. The representative told me he has been told they are on "backorder" until November 8th, when the phone is released on Sprint. Has anyone else been told this?

I selected overnight shipping, and he said it would be a 2-5 day processing time.

I was told pretty much the same thing.
 
Definitely recommend the worldwide chat service. They were great. Phone is scheduled to arrive Wednesday, SIM card Thursday. Live Chat
 
Unless you happen to have a Sprint microSIM laying around no one is going to get activated on Sprint today. I called my local store of course didn't have any. Just got done placing my order via chat...3 to 5 days with no overnight as an option. I guess I am left with a cool wifi toy for 3 to 5 days haha.
 
Just got off the phone with Sprint International, at first the woman was a bit confused, saying the phone should come with a SIM card, but I told her that that wasn't the case as I was ordering it directly fro Google. I listed the model number cited here and told her I believed it was the only MicroSIM card that supported LTE/GSM. She said "that's not true the iPhone supports it," to which I responded that the phone might, but I'm specifically talking about SIM cards. She asked me to give her a moment to verify, came back about 5 minutes later saying that it was on backorder because they did not have the Nexus 5 phone yet, that she wasn't sure when it would be available, but that it would be shipped to my house as soon as possible at no cost, and gave me an order number.
 
Hmm I ordered mine through chat no issues...got an order number that functions via there website. Says it should arrive in 3 to 5 days...

I don't know why they keep saying this. It isn't a SIM exclusive to the N5. They told me the same thing, but they also said if some were shipping out for others requesting it, mine should ship out as well.

Interesting. Does it list a tracking number? My page looks like this...

If your status is different or you have a tracking number, I might try contacting them via the chat on their website to see if I can get one ordered that will actually be shipped. Also is your product ID and description the same?

My local Sprint store in Lewisville Texas had plenty of SIM cards handy.... they gave me one at no charge.. but they couldn't activate the phone because the serial number for this device is blocked... I've been on hold 45 minutes trying to get someone to register the IMEI number so the phone can be activated.... Store manager said they probably have it blocked until November 8 the official release date on Sprint...

They are telling me it is a 16/32 gig issues.. the 16 gig phones are loaded and they are starting to get a lot of 32 gig request and those are NOT loaded in their system... Might be tomorrow before they can activate the 32 gig phones.....
 
I just tried the non-international chat... they said NOPE, we can't help you... should have read the thread about International chat... I will try them now.

I walked into a Sprint store and even though they couldn't get the phone activated he gave me a Sprint SIM (no charge and the receipt even has the SIM SKU but says $0.00 in store charge).. It's in the phone and the pull down drawer says "Sprint" and under network it says Sprint because of the card BUT because the serial numbers for the 32 gig (or so it seems) are not yet uploaded into Sprints data base they can't actually activate the phone yet... They told me 24 - 48 hours... Local store manager told me Sprint may hold off until Friday since that is their official launch date but that is B.S. to the highest degree... They are just not ready at all... Great way to lose customers to another carrier.....

I got one coming in the mail but what if I decide not to get a nexus 5, can I still keep it or do I have to send it back?
