I found this line pretty interesting from the link about the pre-sale date moving to the 20th.
XOOM Pre-sale at Best Buy Moved to February 20? (Confirmed) - Droid Life: A Droid Community Blog
"We don't want to encourage customers to sign up and cancel a month later because don't not get the bounty unless the customer remains with the Verizon service for two months"
Also in this article it states every time you activate the 3G service you have to pay an activation fee.
So grammatical errors aside it looks to me that if we pay the activation fee and then cancel it within the first month BB doesn't get the "bounty" for that activation from Verizon Wireless.
My in store rep stated he would hold one for me on release day so I doubt if I mess around with BB anyway, and he has already agreed to waive the activation fee for me.
