Well, just got my first bill after upgrading to the EVO 4G LTE thru Wirefly and once again I wasn't charged any activation fee whatsoever, yay. It was the same deal last year when I upgraded to the EVO 3D thru Wirefly, although that upgrade went very smoothly compared to the debacle that was the EVO LTE launch (Wirefly was short on stock and my order was delayed by two weeks in addition to Sprint's own week and a half delay cause of the customs issue).

In both cases Wirefly was advertising free activations for new accounts specifically but not upgrades, seems they tend to apply it to everyone regardless though. I know it's not terribly hard to call CS and get out of paying the activation fees but I'm glad I don't even have to bother. I paid $160 to reset my upgrade date a year early, sold the EVO 3D for $150, bought the EVO LTE for $120 (no taxes no shipping); not bad at all IMO, it's a shame those upgrade reset fees are going up.

My 23% student discount was left intact too, after taxes and insurance my bill is about $84, used to be $81 before the insurance hike and $79 before I added an Airave and they imultaneously raised the administrative fee per line up to $1.50, but oh well; I might drop ESRP and leave only the Asurion insurance rather than the whole TEP, not sure it's worth it to save $2 tho.

I did notice one oddity on my bill tho, I have some pro-rated insurance charge for like $9 something, a credit for $6 something, and then the standard $11 insurance charge... They're all labeled the same, I'm basically being charged like $2.60 over some weird pro-rating of the insurance... Gonna have to call and see what that's all about.

Also, I lost that free 300 minute add-on bonus I had opted into about a year ago, when I called to activate my phone the rep said he had never heard of such a thing and that he'd been at Sprint for a while, lol. I don't really need it at all but I might press the issue when I call about the insurance thing, I have the bonus in writing on the letter they sent me about the account after I had upgraded to the EVO 3D.

I upgraded through Sprint.com and still have that 300 bonus minutes.

If it helps, on my account it is titled "300 bonus Anytime Minutes per month". When you click on it, it shows:

You should get your 300 bonus minutes next your on the day you activated your phone. Or does that only apply for new customers ?

I called and they said they were removed by mistake, the 300 min., got them added back on. The CS rep said if I ever changed plans they'd be removed, so I guess if I ever add a line they might disappear again.

You were prorated the new insurance fee of $11 for the rest of your billing cycle when you upgraded. They won't do anything about that. You owe it. Most people don't upgrade on the first day of their billing cycle so you are prorated for the days that are left.
