Activesync with Gmail problem

Hey guys-

I like the interface better with the mail app over gmail and switch back and fourth between the two. However, I noticed when I send an email from the mail app setup with activesync to a gmail user it shows their email address only when they receive it not their name and then the email address even though they are in my contacts. I know it sounds stupid but it really bugs me. Any ideas?
